Yunseo C., Piano Lessons

Korean born pianist, Yunseo began his piano studies at the age of eleven and is currently pursuing his Master of Music in piano performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Professor Jackson Leung.

As an accomplished pianist, Yunseo has won many awards including First Prize in the Marvin O. Mechelke II piano competition, Minnesota State Winner of the 2023 MTNA Piano competition and First Prize with the Best Performance of a Classical Concerto award in the Sempre Musick Concerto competition which gave him an opportunity to play with the Sempre Musick Orchestra. He has also won the Jane Burkleo Music Scholarship, Jean M. Ehret Piano Scholarship and the Best Beethoven Performance Special Award, and Pianist of the year (2023) from the ECM International Music Competition along with the first prize.

Yunseo has participated in Masterclasses with distinguished pianists such as Ksenia Nosikova, Robert McDonald and he also participated in St. Paul Chamber Music Institute which gave him an opportunity to collaborate with renowned violinist Karen Kim, a member of the acclaimed Jasper String Quartet.

Yunseo has performed in prestigious venues such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Mair Concert Hall, Lorenz Auditorium, Lloyd Ultan Recital Hall among others. His formal teachers were Timothy Lovelace, Michael Min, Lara Bolton, and Elizabeth Karelse. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.
