Roxie H, Guitar Teacher
Roxie is a multi-instrumental music performer, songwriter and instructor who specializes in popular music with a strong backbone in theory, note reading, and applied skills to nurture the independence of her students as they grow their passion for playing instruments.
She began her musical journey as a young child begging her father to start teaching her how to play the upright piano that was in their house. That experience progressed into training with a classical piano studio through her teenage years, as she independently pursued learning to play popular and original music on guitar and bass.
Roxie has been providing in-home instrument and songwriting instruction to musical beginners for nearly a decade, and loves working with children and adults as well as students who are neurodiverse. Her instructional experience also includes working as a show director for School of Rock in the past, an annual bass instructor for Girls Rock Cincy summer camp, and leading individualized youth creative writing groups.
She performs and records guitar, bass and vocals with several musical projects in southern and central Ohio, most heavily influenced by the roots of country, folk, blues, rock, and independent musicians. She loves the sense of community, self-exploration, and personal expression that can be opened up in many ways through music and can't wait to help you and your family find the same benefits of a musical life!
