Phillip Goist, Cello
Phillip began studying violin at the age of 4, but switched to cello at age 9 because his mother didn’t want him and his twin brother competing on the violin. After growing up in Cincinnati, Phillip decided to stay local for the opportunity to study with Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra cellist, Alan Rafferty at the UC College-Conservatory of Music. There, he received his Bachelor’s of Music and is currently working on his Masters. Phillip’s career goal is to be an orchestral musician, and has already had success with auditions with Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic, and the New World Symphony Orchestra. In his spare time, Phillip intently follows and watches the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals games.
